August 15-17, 2008 brings the third incarnation of Killer Nashville, a conference for mystery and thriller writers and fans held annually in Nashville, Tennessee.
Sponsored by such organizations as Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, and Barnes & Noble, this year’s event is Killer Nashville’s most comprehensive with over forty separate seminars, workshops, lectures, and presentations over the course of three full days.
Killer Nashville 2008’s Guest of Honor is New York Times bestseller Dr. Bill Bass (Jefferson Bass) who is the founder of the real “Body Farm” in Knoxville, Tennessee and one of the pioneers of forensic pathology. Dr. Bass will be speaking on the science and procedural techniques used to capture some of our most heinous modern criminals. He will also offer his take on writing mysteries and the melding of fiction and fact. There will be a special dinner with Dr. Bass on Saturday August 16. Seating is limited and will be on a first-registered, first-served basis.
Killer Nashville is the home of the Southeast Mystery Writers of America’s annual Magnolia Award presentation. SEMWA is the southeast division of the national Mystery Writers of America.
